Centre for Studies of Haryana History, Culture and Social Development (CSHHCSD)
Addition of the CSHHCSD to HIPA is indeed a mile stone development in the history of the Institute. The Centre is primarily meant to undertake research relating to Haryana’s history, culture, social development and bring out publications on these subjects and coordinate and encourage research in these subject at other institutions.
Dr. K.C. Yadav, former Professor of History, Kurukshetra University, an eminent historian, and author of over a dozen books on the history and culture of Haryana has joined as Professor at the Centre to organize its research and publication activities/programmes.
An ambitions programme of research and publication is being undertaken by the Centre in right earnest. The following work is nearing completion and shall be, hopefully, out by the year-end.
(i) Haryanvi-English and English-Haryanvi Dictionary: A lexical presentation of Haryanvi Language, Lore and Life, by E.Joseph, ICS, edited by Prof. K.C. Yadav.
( ii)Another work of great historic importance is Sir Chhotu Ram: Writings and Speeches. It is a collection of writings and speeches in about 3000 pages (in 5 volumes). The work is in progress and shall, hopefully, be ready for the press by mid-2007.
(iii) Who is Who of Freedom Fighters in Haryana. The work is going on with full speed on this multi-volume work covering about six thousand freedom fighters. It will perhaps see the light of the day by the yearn end (2007).
Prof.K.C. Yadav attended the following seminar at Nuh on 7-8 November, 2006: “Mewat and Freedom Struggle” and read a paper on the “Role of Mewats in the Uprising of 1857”. Hon. Chief Minister, Haryana presided over the Seminar and HE the Governor of Haryana was the Guest of Honour.
